Standard/Lite Quick Start

Create your account, set your profile, learn the chat, ask your first question, upload a photo, and save answers.

Overview

This guide helps you start using CodeBuddy with a Lite plan. You'll set up your profile, learn the chat, ask your first questions, upload a photo, and save your results. You'll also see what Pro adds.

1) Create Your Account

  • Check your email for an invite (or sign up if your company allows self-serve).
  • Choose a strong password you won't reuse elsewhere.
  • Accept your company's terms if prompted.

2) Set Your Profile

  • Choose your trade or specialty.
  • Add your experience level.
  • Set your location (helps when answers relate to local differences).
  • Optional: Add a short "about me" so teammates know what you handle.

3) Learn the Chat

  • Pick a Specialist (if you see multiple).
  • In the message box, write what you need:
    • "What's the requirement for [topic]?"
    • "Can you outline steps for [task]?"
  • Press Send. You'll see the answer appear below.

Tip: Ask one question at a time for the clearest result.

4) Ask Your First Question

  • Keep it short and specific.
  • If something isn't clear, ask a follow-up right away.
  • Use simple words for faster, clearer answers.

5) Understand the Response

  • You may see:
    • A short summary.
    • A list of steps.
    • Visuals (illustrations or tables) when they help.
  • If something seems off, ask, "Can you clarify point #2?" or "Show me the part that matters most."

6) Photo Upload Basics

  • You can add a photo or screenshot to help explain a situation.
  • Take a clear picture with good lighting.
  • You can send a photo by itself, without any text, if that's faster.
  • If your photo didn't upload, try a smaller image or better connection.

7) Save and Organize

  • Bookmark or save answers you want to remember.
  • Share a link with a teammate when you need quick alignment.
  • If you expect to ask the same thing again, keep the conversation open and reuse it.

8) Plan Limits and Upgrades

  • Lite plan focuses on core chat features.
  • Pro plan adds:
    • More powerful photo handling.
    • Talking to CodeBuddy by voice.
    • Shared content for teams.
  • If you need Pro features, ask your Admin or check your account's upgrade option.

You're all set to handle your day-to-day questions with CodeBuddy Lite.
